Welcome to Spring Hockey Registration with the Highland Park Giants

Highland Park Giants Family,

The Giants anticipate participating in the North Shore Spring Hockey League and one spring tournament in 2020. We are looking for new and returning players at the High School Varsity and Junior Varsity levels.

Please note that while every hockey playing student (or prospective student) at HPHS is welcome to participate in our Spring program, if your 9th, 10th or 11th grade son played at the AAA level this past season they will only be included on a game roster if there is room. 

The NSSHL will offer a regular season of about eight games between April 5th and May 23rd.

A tournament will be held in late April or May in the Chicago area.

SPRING SEASON STRUCTURE
Giants practice schedule for the Spring season is tentatively as follows:

Varsity: Tuesdays or Thursdays & Sundays (subject to change)
Junior Varsity: Tuesdays or Thursdays & Sundays (subject to change)

 

COST & PAYMENT
Returning Players: The fee for the Spring season is $745 per player if you played during the 2019/20 Winter season or any previous HPHS Winter or Spring season and includes pre-season evaluations, practices, practice games, Spring League and tournaments.

 

New or Incoming Freshman: The fee for the Spring Season is $795 per player and includes two spring jerseys, pre-season evaluations, practices, practice games, Spring League and tournaments.

 

Starting with this 2020 Spring Season, players that play in any Spring Season and do not tryout the following fall will need to petition the Board for an exception due to special circumstances and payment of a reinstatement fee to participate in a future Spring Season.

If your son is interested in playing Spring League with the Giants, please complete this online registration tool below by March 1, 2020. Any Player who does not pay by 3/10 will not be allowed to participate as of that date.

 

Missing Spring Jersey: The fee is $50.00 for the replacement of Spring jerseys. It is mandatory for all players to have home and away jerseys for the Spring season. Please contact Mark Romo at markromo123@gmail.com with any questions or replacement jersey needs.

 

Once your online registration is completed, you have TWO payment options. You can mail a check to P.O. Box 558, Highland Park, IL 60035 OR you can pay by Credit Card, in which case a $20.00 service fee will be added to your fees. Please send an email to: giants.hockey.treasurer@gmail.com to pay by credit card. Upon receipt of payment, your son is welcome to attend tryouts.

 

Checks should be made payable to the "Highland Park Giants Hockey Association."

 

REQUIRED FORMS & REGISTRATIONS
Along with the accompanying online registration tool, all new and returning players are required to have a valid USA Hockey Registration Number. If you played for the Giants or another USAH organization for the Fall/Winter 2019/2020 season, you DO NOT need to re-register with USA Hockey for the Spring season.

  1. USA Hockey Registration. Please see instructions below if you need to register with USA Hockey:
    1. Step 1: CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
    2. Step 2: Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.
