Giants ROLL ON with Victory over PREP BLACK
Riding high and full of confidence the JV team brought their swag to Centennial on Sunday night for a 3 rematch vs Prep Black. After a scoreless first period, Prep Black scored early in the 2nd period. That lead stood heading into the 3rd when Coaches Desgagne and Carder rallied the troops and Sophomore Danny Karmin tinkled the twine to cut the lead in half to make a 2-1. PREP brought it to us but behind the net minding of Jared Pearson and the defensive pairings of Kroncke/Silver, Sereda/Hoffman & Weisman/Levine-Wolf, the team held their ground and shut down the potent offense of PREP. After 4 straight power plays by PREP the Giants were finally on their own PP. Time running down with less than a minute to go in the game, Giants cleared the zone and fed Kyle Powers who bolted on a breakaway, approaching the net with 2 steps on the defender he was taken down and awarded a penalty shot! KP scored to tie the game and the fans were wild! With just 18 seconds to go and adrenaline flowing, Coach Desgagne called timeout "The Montreal" was called and off the face off, Charlie Levine-Wolf snagged the puck and fed it down the ice where a couple shots were taken and once again Kyle Powers Lit the lamp with :01 seconds to go and HP Won the game! A sweet ending to a hard fought and well-played game. Net minder Pearson had 12 saves while the offense of HP had 23 shots on net. What a night and what a game! Go Giants!
